New Director of European Green Sky at EUROCONTROL
On October 1, 2024, Tânia Cardoso Simões was appointed as the Director of European Green Sky at EUROCONTROL organization. Her task will be to support European aviation in key areas such as research innovations, international cooperation, sustainable aviation development, and data analysis.
Tânia Simões has extensive experience in aviation management. For the past seven years, she has served as a board member and then chairperson of ANAC - the Portuguese civil aviation agency. Under her leadership, the organization faced difficult challenges, such as ensuring business continuity during the pandemic. For 13 years, she also served as an expert in competition matters at the Portuguese Competition Council.
Her appointment is a significant step towards strengthening European efforts for sustainable development in aviation, as well as international cooperation in this sector. Tânia has legal education from prestigious universities such as Sorbonne in Paris and King's College in London, which allows her to combine knowledge in law, economics, and aviation management.
