Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), officially known as Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, stands as a significant gateway and the largest airport in Poland, located just 10 kilometers southwest of the Warsaw city center. This airport is not only a hub for LOT Polish Airlines but also serves as a focus city for several other airlines including Enter Air and Wizz Air.

Over the years, Warsaw Chopin Airport has seen substantial growth in passenger traffic. In 2019, it handled approximately 18.86 million passengers, a number which significantly dropped to around 5.47 million in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, recovery was evident by 2021, with passenger numbers increasing to about 7.47 million​​.

The airport has a rich history, originally opened in 1934. Throughout World War II, it was a focal point of conflict and was substantially destroyed, only to be rebuilt post-war. Over the decades, it has undergone several expansions and renovations, including the construction of a new terminal in time for the UEFA Euro 2012 football championships​.

Today, Warsaw Chopin Airport operates from a single integrated terminal, Terminal A, which accommodates all passenger traffic with modern facilities and services. The terminal offers a range of amenities including ATMs, currency exchange services, shops, postal services, lounges, a chapel, children's areas, and free Wi-Fi​.
